In what has become an annual
event, LAXINSTITUTE Lacrosse was
proud to act as unofficial host
for the 2011 Turkey Bowl. On the
day after Thanksgiving, anyone
and everyone who has played the
game is welcome to come out and
work off the extra helping of
turkey by taking to the field.
The competition is friendly but
the desire to play is legit. The
2011 Turkey Bowl saw players
representing to the best of our
count 15 different high school
or college programs! The game is
also a great excuse for past
teammates to reconnect after
spending time away at college.
Every year this event has grown
and we are looking to help make
it even bigger in 2012!

LAXINSTITUTE Lacrosse
and Carolina Revolution
Lacrosse Club would like
to offer our profound
thanks to LXM
Professional Players
Kyle Harrison and Maxx
Davis for coming to the
Upstate of South
Carolina and sharing
their skills, talents,
and motivation with a
small group of eager
players over the course
of a two day camp. This
was the second trip for
Kyle and the first for
Maxx but they made a
lasting impression on
those in attendance.
Both Kyle and Maxx were
extremely impressed with
the level of work,
attention, and trust the
players brought to the
field and they are
committed to seeing the
continued growth of the
sport here in the
Palmetto state. Keep
checking back for
updates on when they
will be returning! |

The coaches of the
Carolina Revolution
Lacrosse Club would like
to express our pride in
the performance of both
our U-19 Girls Black and
U-19 Girls Green Teams.
In the recent First Team
Tournament held at
Limestone College in
Gaffney, SC both teams
made it to the
semi-finals and the
Black Team went on to
win the tournament
championship! Every girl
worked hard and executed
on what we have been
coaching all season
long. We focused on the
little things and the
big things took care of
themselves! This
tournament win was
especially sweet given
Coach Eliza's connection
to the Limestone program
and campus. We look
forward to taking it to
the field at least once
more this season and
building on this
success! |

LAXINSTITUTE Lacrosse
and Carolina Revolution
Lacrosse Club would like
to thank STX Fab Five
member, UMBC Assistant
Coach, and UVA Alum Amy
Appelt for coming to the
Upstate and bringing her
one of a kind
instruction to the girls
of our area. Everyone
worked hard and took
home new skills with a
much better
understanding of what it
takes to be a top level
player! |

LAXINSTITUTE Lacrosse
and Carolina Revolution
Lacrosse Club want to
give a special thanks to
member of our U-19 Girls
Travel Teams for
stepping up to volunteer
to bring lacrosse to the
2011 Special Olympics
Athlete Recognition Day.
Our girls introduced
lacrosse to every
athlete who came by and
brought lacrosse to a
whole new level of
recognition from the
crown in attendance. The
best part of the event
was how inspired all of
our girls were by the
athletes they met. It is
safe to say that
everyone took something
away from this event! |

LAXINSTITUTE Lacrosse
and Carolina Revolution
Lacrosse Club would like
to take a moment to
thank Joe Walters for
making time in his MLL
schedule to come out to
the Upstate of South
Carolina to share his
knowledge, skills, and
passion for the game
with 40 lucky clinic
attendees. It turned out
to be a perfect day for
lacrosse and Joe quickly
demonstrated why he is
one of the best shooters
in the game. We hope to
have Joe back with his 2
day intensive Sharp
Shooter Academy and we
will obviously continue
to post information
should we be able to
make this happen! |

LAXINSTITUTE Lacrosse
was fortunate enough to
be invited out for the
second consecutive year
to Richland Northeast
High School to conduct
an introductory clinic
for U-15 Boys. The group
worked hard, had fun,
and most importantly
began their lacrosse
journey! We look
forward to following
these young men to see
where they take their
new found skills!
A special thank you to
all of the RNE players
who were also in
attendance for being
willing to jump in and
help out...passing on
the game is what it is
all about! |

LAXINSTITUTE Lacrosse
and Carolina Revolution
Lacrosse Club would like
to take a moment to
thank Kyle Harrison for
making time in his crazy
schedule to come out to
the Upstate of South
Carolina to share his
knowledge, skills, and
passion for the game
with 40 lucky clinic
attendees. It turned out
to be a perfect day for
lacrosse!
We are certain that all
who were in attendance
will agree that the
clinic was one of the
best opportunities our
players have seen. Kyle
was most impressed with
the level of focus and
energy that all the
players demonstrated.
We hope to have news
soon on when Kyle might
be able to return and
we'll keep you posted.
In the mean time, check
out the pictures on the
Kyle Harrison clinic
page
HERE.
We'll keep them up for a
while.
Thank you Kyle, for
everything! |

Ask a Carolina
Revolution player why
they play the game and
you are likely to get
some pretty amazing
responses.
"I play for the love of
the game."
"I play for last year's
seniors and next year's
freshmen."
"I play for the fun, the
sweat, my friends, and
my family."
"I play for Pride...for
Team...and for Myself."
"I play for Everyone who
can't be at the field."
This last response took
on special meaning at
the 2010 Beat the Heat
Tournament at UNC
Charlotte. We had a
member of the C-REV
family ask if we could
support a friend who is
battling Stage 4 Breast
Cancer. Without
hesitation we agreed and
arrangements were made
for the C-REV U-19 Girls
Black Team to wear arm
bands with the pink
ribbon logo to show our
support. The team agreed
at the beginning of the
day that any successes
we earned would be
dedicated to the fight
being waged by the
friend of our C-REV
family member. At the
end of the day, the
Black Team was awarded
the Tournament
Championship and
celebrated by taking a
picture with wristband
adorned arms held high
to recognize that while
what we do on the field
is important,
recognizing those who
can't be at the field is
doubly so.
The entire C-REV family
wishes for a victory to
be enjoyed by the friend
we all now support. We
are all your fans and we
hope that in some small
way, the victory earned
today will help you in
your fight! |

The U-19 Girls Carolina
Revolution team would
like to thank Deputy
Inspector B. Freund with
the Lexington County
Major Crimes Unit for
coming out to one of our
practices and
introducing our girls to
some basic self defense
techniques. Providing
opportunities like this
to our teams is just one
way in which we can help
prepare our players. If
you have a special skill
or specific knowledge
that you think would
benefit our players,
please let us know! |

LACROSSE...and
FOOTBALL?
In case you haven't seen
it yet, during the
weekly broadcast of
WYFF-4 High School
Playbook you may have
seen the latest
commercial for Steadman
Hawkins Clinic of the
Carolinas. If you look
closely, scattered
amongst the lab coats
and other athletes, you
will notice members of
our U-19 Girls and Boys
teams in uniform! We all
know that football
dominates Friday nights
this time of year but to
have lacrosse players in
such a highly visible
platform, perhaps it
won't be long until
football players will
want to be in OUR
commercials. A special
thanks to both Steadman
Hawkins for the invite
and to our players who
donated their time and
talent to the project! |
